Well equipped, clad in iron armor stormtroopers quickly broke the resistance of french who survived under the shelling . Under the cover of barrage the german infantry they easily took the first line of defense. However the further moving of the 1st Army was stopped by the second french fortification line at 2 or 3 miles from the front. The main efforts were concentrated more deeper and units hit by a powerful artillery strike. Moreover the area was infested with poisonous chemicals and german infantry had to fight in stuffy masks. French resistance was fierce. Second trench line were occupied by huge losses elimination. A7V heavy tanks of the 1st and 2nd assaults stopped and were no longer able to support the infantry. Most of them stepped on mines and burned. French artillery shoot the second wave of the infantry assault which is going to support the first stormtroopers. It became apparent that the fast-break of defending 4 and 5 french armies failed. Offensive turned into a massacre. Despite of this, the great infantry assault, iron Kaiser soldiers, terrified the enemy. Literally gnawed the second and third french trench lines.
Now we need to support the first attack. Our priority it the air conquest. All fighter pilots are ordered to destroy any enemy aircraft, particularly Breguet spotters.
You will lead the flight of three Fokker D.VII. One more flight of Fokker D.VII from Jasta 13 will fly with you together. Takeoff at 12:30 from Leffincourt. Your mission is to clear the sky above assault forces of 1st Army XIV Corps west from Auberive. Your targerts are French Breguet spotters. Them expected altitude is 1800-2000 meters.
Weather report: wind from northwest, 2 m/s, temperature + 26 C, clouds at 2500 meters.

Tenemos órdenes de mantener el dominio de los cielos, destruyendo cualquier avión enemigo, principalmente los aviones de observación Breguet.
Volarán 2 escuadrillas de Foker D.VII (nosotros somos una de ellas). Objetivo, los Breguet, los cuales se esperan que vuelen a 1.800 / 2.000 metros.
