Hola amigo:

Tu AAR me ha despertado la curiosidad por un juego que nunca tuve en tablero pero que siempre me ha interesado. Conozco el juego de pc, aunque no he pasado de los primeros turnos contra la IA. Te pido por favor si puedes explicarme como crear una partida PBEM, pues un gran amigote mío y yo estamos intentando jugar a una pero nos resulta imposible. Nos hemos bajado la versión 1.38 del juego y los archivos 3RPC PBEM.
La cosa está en que debemos hacer algo mal cuando creamos la partida. Llegamos a la setup italiana y ahí no somos capaces de salvar la partida.
Perdona por el rollazo, pero he creído importante exponerlo aquí en lugar de en un privado, pues estoy seguro que habrá gente a la que le interesará saberlo.

Primero de todo gracias por tu mensaje. Me alegra saber que he podido ayudar a que a alguien le entre el gusanillo por jugar. Pongo aquí las instrucciones en inglés a ver si os sirven. Si tenéis alguna duda me comentáis y lo miramos.
Por otra parte, nosotros estamos usando por primera vez el 3RGold. Es un programita de MSDOS que permite modificar cosas de los ficheros de partida, arreglar algunos bugs, utilizar las variantes de juego...



PBEM Rules For Third Reich PC

1. Prerequisites :

* * Patch 1.38 is needed located above or at the Avalon Hill site http://www.avalonhill.com/patches/third ... 3r_138.zip

2. Principles :

* Added hotkeys that would make a PBEM game possible.
Shift-Q controls the Allied AI, and Shift-W controls the Axis AI.
* To play an email game, you start the game normally, setting it up for 2 human
players. When the phasing player gets to the Voluntary Destruction phase, he
hits the appropriate key to turn on the AI for the other side.
When he gets to his SR phase, he hits the same key to toggle the AI off.
Save the game, then send the saved game file to the other player.
When they get to their voluntary Destruction phase, he hits the appropriate key
to turn on the AI for the other side, then hits the same key during his SR phase
to turn it off, then sends the save to the other player.
* There is no " human " interaction from the non-phasing player during the phasing
player. In fact the AI will simulate adverse interaction during phasing player
turn ; AI decides to allocate DAS, to intercept enemy Air & Naval missions, as
well as losses allocations.

3. Save Game Procedure :

At the end of each phasing player turn, a save game will be done. The saved game name will
be like the following : Axis or Allied, then season, then year (ex : Axis Fall 40).
The DOS name will be specified by the game itself, in the form " 3rsave##.3rg ". All
previous saved games should be archived in case of problems.

After saving its own player turn, each player will E-Mail the saved game to its opponent.
In case of Flip-Flop, the player plays the following turn in a row, save both games turns,
and just notify it in its E-Mail. Players are also encouraged to notify important things
like for examples DOW, Conquests, Attrition Results, ...

4. 1939 Setup Procedure :

* Assuming Poland deployment is without any importance for other powers, the Axis
player sets up the Italian army. He then saves the set-up (Shift F7) as
"Italian 39 Setup". Then he E-Mails the saved file (.139 extension in the 3R
directory) to the Allied player.
* Then the Allied player sets up all his units for France, GB, and URSS, he saves
the set-up as " Allied 39 Setup " and E-Mails it (.239 extension in the 3R
directory) to the Axis player who may resume with German deployment and first
turn actions.

5. Conventions :

* Players should be honest enough not to play endlessly their turn until rolling
all perfect results, as this method would break the game balance.
* By mutual agreement, players could send their mails in a ZIP or ARJ format.

Este manual para pbem lo tenemos pero no somos capaces de ponerlo en práctica, se ve que somos pelín torpes, y eso sin contar el nivel de inglés...más bien tirando por lo bajo.

sino, lo comprimo y te lo envío. Es abandonware, así que no tiene copyright (creo).

Si no recuerdo mal, va así:

1) El Eje comienza una partida y pone las fichas de Polonia (que pase lo que pase, está condenada al primer turno) e Italia. Evidentemente que ponga Polonia "bien" o que el otro jugador le diga cómo la quiere poner.

2) Shift + F7 y guarda el fichero con la distribución de fichas de Italia (Italia.139) y le envía este fichero al jugador Aliado.

3) El jugador aliado comienza una partida de campaña nueva, y le dice que quiere desplegar las fichas del eje desde un fichero (escoge el fichero Italia.139). Entonces pone las fichas de Francia, CW y Rusia y salva la configuración (Shift + F7) a un fichero Aliado.239 y se lo envía al jugador del Eje

4) El jugador del eje comienza una campaña nueva y escoge el despliegue desde fichero (Italia.139 y Aliado.239). Pone las fichas alemanas, conecta la IA del jugador aliado y juega el primer turno.

5) Antes de acabar el turno (cuando está haciendo los SR), quita la IA. Salva la partida al final y se lo envía al otro jugador.

6) A partir de aquí:
- Enchufar IA del contrario
- Jugar
- Al llegar al SR, quitar IA del contrario
- Salvar y enviar el turno

Parece complicado, pero es porque lo he explicado pormenorizadamente. Luego es totalmente mecánico.

Me gustaría saber cómo se puede conseguir la versión Gold del juego. En uno de los enlaces parece que la vende un canadiense, pero luego hay que tener el CD a la vez que se juega, o al menos eso he entendido. ¿No habrá algún archivo que contenga toda la versión y se pueda descargar o adquiri para jugarlo en DOSBOX?

Hola,

Ahora estoy de viaje y contestando desde un iPad, así que no te puedo ayudar mucho. Pero si buscas por internet es fácil de encontrarlo. No hace falta tener un CD metido, de hecho simplemente lo ejecutas para modificar algunos datos del juego (como los BRP, etc) y luego lanzas el 3R. Mira a ver si lo encuentras y sino, cuando tenga más tiempo te escribo.

Hay una página en el mismo sitio para verlos on line, creo, pero parece que está caída.

Si tenéis tantos problemas para usar el programa para PC podéis intentarlo con el Cyberboard o el Vassal. El juego se presta mucho a cualquiera de estas plataformas, como la mayoría de los clásicos.

Yo la verdad es que no tengo ningún problema con el juego, y eso que lo juego desde un Mac con DOSBox. Desde PC sólo hay que ejecutarlo desde una ventana de consola MS/DOS y ya está (al menos yo hacía eso cuando tenía Windows).
