CCRP Autorelease
Now we have enabled CCRP bomb automatic release. The CCRP instructions have been updated in the manual but just in case:
When in CCRP, the trigger instead of releasing the bombs, now functions as a release consent switch.
1. You must press the trigger as soon as you see the release cue.
2. Keep the trigger pressed for as long as the cue is in the HUD. The bombs will be automatically released when the cue crosses the diamond reticle center.
The CCRP target will clear when:
a. A bomb(s) has been released.
b. The cue is over the diamond reticle if no bomb has been released.
TAS is working and precision has improved. It still needs some work. But now bombs are hitting in elevation, even if they miss on azimuth (to the left or right).
DCS: F-5E Tiger II Early Access
You can purchase the DCS: F-5E Tiger II here. The download will be available soon!
The Belsimtek team started the development of the F-5E model in April 2015. The main goal of the development was to achieve the highest possible degree of correspondence between the model and the real prototype. As usual, during development of the new module, it became necessary to apply new approaches for modelling objects of the engine and various systems. In case of the F-5E, it was necessary to increase the number of modelled units for the engine, that is why the engine model has been adjusted up to the present time. Nevertheless, it was worth it, the present engine model, along with the precise flight model of the aircraft, made it possible to achieve correspondence of all the parameters, such as acceleration, climb rate, speed bleeding, gliding in all altitudes range, airspeeds with various takeoff weights and engine operating modes. And, as usual, careful attention was paid to the model behavior at the stalling angles and beyond stall angles (after stall and at spinning)! These modes were tested for more than four months by the real pilots during alpha testing!
Main features of the DCS: F-5E Tiger II:
Professional flight and engine model, precisely reproducing the performance of the real prototype in all altitudes envelope.
temperatures and speeds for various weights and in-flight configurations.
Detailed, interactive cockpit with six degrees of freedom.
Interactive control of the cockpit elements using mouse.
Fully simulated armament system.
Electrical, fuel flow, hydraulic systems simulated in detail, as well as operation of the avionics.
Authentic liveries of several countries.
Complete set of training missions and single player missions.
Complete and quick start manuals in Russian and English.
Three-stage campaign for the F-5E module, developed by a third-party developer, outside the scope of the present module supply package (under development).
See the Flight Manual for more details about the aircraft, its systems, armament and combat employment for free.

I have a little news for you on the updated Caucasus map for DCS World 2.5. A key part of DCS World 2.5 will be the unification of the Caucasus and Nevada maps (and all other future maps). In order to do this, we first need to update the Caucasus map to the T4 map standard (as the Nevada map is).
Initially, we planned just to update the file structure and field textures, but we later decided to greatly expand on that. Because the Caucasus often servers as the first impression for new DCS World users, we feel it important to have a more substantial update that matches map quality to vehicle module quality. While the attached summer season images are still very much Work-In-Progress (with a lot of fixes, tuning and some pretty big changes to still come), they do provide a glimpse of where we are going.
In the attached images, you may notice the following: updated / higher resolution textures for almost all terrain surfaces, airfields, and ground objects; new tree system for both forests and “urban areas”; much greater population of forested areas; several new ground objects with improved geometry detail; deferred lighting system; new water renderer; procedural grass; corrected river and lake parallax; and improved shadows. We also hope to include a higher resolution terrain elevation mesh, but no promises on that. In previous images, we showed off how the updated map is looking from “squirrel cam” level, but today we thought we’d raise the camera up a bit.
Once the map update is near final with concreate poured, we can provide more details. However, prior to then, too much can still change to make any additional feature statements.
We share your desire to have “the great unification” happen as soon as possible, as it will make the lives of both developer and customer a lot easier. However, this map update is long overdue and will need to be completed before that can happen. We are still looking at this being completed by the end of 2016.
All in all, this is going to be a pretty extensive update to the map and we think will breath some new life into this region for both past and future missions. Best of all, we are providing this extensive map update for FREE.
First of all- thank you all for your patience in the past year.
Unfortunately plans don't always work out, and we're working very hard to remedy the situation as quickly as possible.
Here's a very quick summary of what we're working on and where we stand.
AJS-37 Viggen
We're all fairly quiet and keeping our heads low- as we're still very much knee deep in the AJS-37 completion crunch. Most of the current work is focused on a few critical areas:
Correction of erroneous artwork
Fixing of a few hundred bugs, including some critical
Completion of ground mapping radar shader & visuals (Performance!)
Campaign & Mission completion. (1 Mini Campaign, 1 Major Campaign & Training suite)
Marketing materials, music licensing, livestream planning
Expansion of the LN Site (including Merchandise- and MiG-21 rewards)
New Theatres
The past few weeks have seen the completion of the last research trips conducted with real Viggens. Again, we visited the JA-37Di at Graz-Thalerhof to be able to remedy some of the erroneously constructed artwork. (Canopies are a PITA!). We're very grateful to all of the museums around Europe, which have graciously afforded us the ability to crawl all over their aircraft in search for complete accuracy.
The Viggen has been a very challenging project for us, both in size and complexity- but primarily in the new features that will be introduced with the aircraft. Our own, custom ground mapping radar has been a point of very difficult development- but we sincerely hope that the end result will be stunning in every way.
It all sounds, in writing, a little more pessimistic than it really should. We're getting there.
F-14
The F-14 is progressing steadily and many new systems are being consistently implemented.
There are not too many "unknowns" or- directly- new features involved in the F-14, which make the development process a little easier.
We have begun relying on the expertise of SMEs to ensure accuracy of various systems, the flight model, and other features. It's been very helpful to fill in the gaps that exist in the documentation, which- unfortunately are quite large. It's also been helpful so far in ensuring that the feel and look of certain aircraft systems is accurate. A concrete example would be the refresh rate for the HUD and VDI.
We've also begun conducting concrete CFD experiments for the AIM-54, to ensure that the missile is modelled to the most accurate extent possible.
We'll be doing a full update dedicated to just this area, as soon as we start getting concrete results from our simulations.
We'll be sharing much more on the F-14 once the AJS-37 is out the door, and more resources are freed up to produce enjoyable visual material.
MiG-21bis
The last few patches for DCS have seen the inclusion of a few new MiG-21 features, and we still have a few large items that we need to take care of to ensure the full completion of this module.
These include some sound updates, visual updates- as well as backporting a few new features from the AJS-37 and F-14 projects.
There are, of course, also a few bugs left with aircraft functionality- and we're getting to these as quickly as possible.
We have not, nor will we ever abandon our previously released modules. They're all equally important to us, and we hope that we have, and will continue to prove this moving forward.
Again, thank you for all of your patience and support.
We're eternally grateful to have such a great and understanding fanbase, and if we could take all the premature teasing back, we would.
We're always trying to improve, and the past couple of years have been a great learning experience.
