¿Alguno se acuerda de la tipa buenorra de Ubisoft, Jade Raymond? La tía se hizo famosa al promocionar Assasin´s Creed; muchos picaron (picamos), y nos compramos un truñazo a 60 euros.

Re: Game of Thrones Genesis
LOL gente. ¿Habéis leido los foros? Parece que no es un RTS de acción frenético, todo lo contrario. Un juego pausado, con un fuerte componente diplomático "hideputa", traiciones y mucha gestión. Vamos, que el juego it's not a trap!
I played the tutorial, completed the first 6 missions/maps and yes I am a huge A Game of Thrones fan and a fan of old school strategy boardgames.
This game is essentially two distinct games since the game thus far has two separate stages.
The first stage is all about politicking and alliance making and subterfuge and building up your economy, towns, army and alliances. It is a neat game replete with spies, marriages, assassins, rogues, mercenaries and so on. I love this stage of the game as it seemed to evoke the back-stabbing paranoid atmosphere of the books quite nicely. On the larger maps you can pause to reflect on your strategy and react to new developments. Units also gain XP and you can upgrade your units with a choice of several bonuses. This is the pre-war stage, but it does involve fighting/killing with assassins and mercenaries and town-guards.
The second stage is full-out war with aspects of the first stage becoming redundant (i.e. envoys etc) and the war aspects taking prominence. Here you cannot take towns with diplomacy or subterfuge, you have to lay siege to them. This stage doesn't have the full complement of units at the stage I am at so I would reserve judgement for now, other than to say that it looks very cool at this early stage but doesn't have the graphical awesomeness of the Total War games and has a more Stronghold kinda look and vibe to it.
I buy too many games on steam btw, especially with sales and special deals. Many games are duds and I only play 10-20 minutes before I realize I made a mistake. This game isn't one of them and I am having a great time especially with the first stage diplomacy/subterfuge aspect of the game.
Finally, the lore is perfect and in the single-player game you play through famous story-lines referenced in the Game of Thrones.
I am pretty pleased thus far.
Just wanted to write this I was seeing some negativity here that I felt was unwarranted.

Re: Game of Thrones Genesis
It is slow - even during all out war. This is not a standard RTS - the speed is nowhere near C&C level, for instance. Gold seems to come in slow based on the movement speed of merchants/distance of towns. Food is required but so far seems plentiful.
Economy and diplomacy factor in greatly.
You can form a secret alliance with a town/castle instead of an open alliance, you can turn their envoys/assassins into turncoats so the other player doesn't know he's not making real alliances/real kills unless he uses his own spy to uncover the turncoat.
The AI so far (only in chapter 1, mind you) seems to be stymied by a slow but steady approach. For instance, keep an envoy in each town to repel envoys from the opponent; stand a spy outside of town to see incoming stealthed units; pop a guardsman in to fight those who try nefarious deeds and/or arrest incoming spies, rogues, etc. It never seems to deviate from the standard approach.
I think the game could really shine in multiplayer; with all the layers of deception and diplomacy it could be incredibly hard to track down every traitor and still manipulate your opponents. Unfortunately, I rather suck at multiplayer games so I doubt I'll ever try.
The DRM is a problem. I didn't realize it used TAGES until I came into the forums. I was blinded by my love for the books.
The game (again, so far) does NOT take place in the same timeframe as the books, but does seem to stick to the lore. You'll recognize a lot of the names and armies and story if you've read the books.

Re: Game of Thrones Genesis
If you would read the thread, you would know what the game is like. Let me reiterate.
You start in peace-time with the focus being on creating allies in neighboring towns, castles, mines, and septs(churches). You do this by sending your envoys to these places to establish an alliance/trade route with them. But, the whole game is filled with counters upon counter to each move you make. The game starts off pretty slow, but starts to get a bit more hectic (depending on how many players you are facing). The combat does play a big role in the game, but it does take a back-seat to the espionage and diplomacy. And what I mean by espionage (which is quite unique for a RTS) is the ability to spy on your enemies and allies as well as create secret pacts with their towns, castles, etc. Secret pacts basically take away their benefits and give you a portion of them, but without them noticing. This can be countered by an enemy spy, but that can be countered by creating a blood pact (marrying off a lady of your house to that specific town), but even that can be countered by an assassin to kill the lady and therefor ending that blood pact, but that can even be countered as well, which can in turn be countered by something else. There is much more to the game, but this a slight overview as to what the gameplay is like.
It seems the strategy is quite well done, and even troop placement and composition is quite strategic as well. If you aren't into more of a cerebral style of RTS, well then I would pass on this one. Personally, I have really enjoyed what I have played so far and am not disappointed in the slightest with my purchase.
